This isn’t just a teen center… It’s the LARGEST Boys & Girls Clubs teen center in America. 🇺🇸 And it’s right here in the Northwest Suburbs. The Foglia Woodlands Teen Impact Center is officially open, and this week, we celebrated a milestone years in the making.
📍Woodlands is the 17th dedicated teen center for Boys & Girls Clubs in America and now holds the distinction of being the largest. But the numbers only tell part of the story.
At our ribbon-cutting and name unveiling, we had the opportunity to celebrate the people who made this vision possible — including the Foglia family, whose generosity and belief in our teens made an extraordinary impact on this space. As a special surprise, we unveiled the new name: The Foglia Woodlands Teen Impact Center.
To our Board of Directors, donors, partners, community leaders, staff, and everyone who helped bring Woodlands to life: thank you. You didn’t just help build a bigger space. You helped build bigger possibilities for the next generation.💙💫

So proud of our community!! Great job all
The Boys & Girls Club has a very special place in my heart. ❤️ When I was a teenager, they were there for me during a time when I really needed someone and didn’t have much support. They taught me job interviewing skills that I still carry with me today, helped me land a job downtown, and helped me get on my feet when my own father wouldn’t. I love knowing that this new facility is right here in my village, ready to support and encourage the wonderful teens in our community and the surrounding communities. One day, I will find a way to volunteer and give back to an organization that once gave so much to me. ❤️

With heavy hearts, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwest Suburbs remembers Father Camacho, who passed away on Sunday, August 30.
Father Camacho was a member of the original steering committee that helped bring the Boys & Girls Club to Carpentersville and later served on our Board of Directors for several years.
He was a wonderful person and dedicated community leader whose service made a lasting impact on BGCNWS and the Carpentersville community.
We are grateful for his leadership, friendship, and commitment to young people. His legacy will not be forgotten.

🌿🐛 Learning comes alive at Lincoln Marsh Natural Area ! Our 1st–3rd grade members from Golfview & Meadowdale had an incredible field trip to Lincoln Marsh, where they were encouraged to explore, observe, and learn through hands-on experiences.
From holding insects to getting an up-close look at the natural world, our members were able to engage with nature in a way that made learning feel real.
💚A huge thank you to the wonderful Lincoln Marsh staff for being so kind, welcoming, and giving our members the chance to get curious and immerse themselves in the environment around them.🌱

Our Lakewood members spent art time drawing cats of all kinds! 🐱🎨 From colorful cats to silly ones, every member saw their cat a little differently.
It was also a sweet reminder that animals have their own personalities, too. Whether they’re playful, shy, curious, or a little sassy, every cat deserves to be treated with kindness and care.

I have visited the new Impact Center and it is amazing, It is a great opportunity for kids to learn and have fun after school.
🫶When schools and community organizations come together, students have more opportunities to thrive. We’re excited to have D220 alongside us in that mission.
We had a great visit with the Barrington D220 administration, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time they spent learning more about our new Woodlands Teen Impact Center and the opportunities available to our members.
From seeing our space firsthand to talking about how we can work together to support D220 students beyond the school day, it was exciting to see just how much potential there is in this partnership.
And of course, we stopped at the Blue Door Brew Cafe! ☕️🍵

We had a ball at Kemper Park! ⚾💙More than 50 members stepped up to the plate for our first-ever Pitch, Hit & Run MLB Softball event, and it was a day full of learning, cheering each other on, and trying something new.
For many of our members, this was their first time picking up a softball, but that didn’t stop them from bringing their best swing, strongest throw, and fastest sprint. After a “how-to” lesson from softball expert Mike Berger, members put their skills to the test through hitting, pitching, and running challenges.
A huge thank-you to MLB for giving our members the chance to get out on the field, build new skills, and discover a new love for the game!

There were snapping turtles in the water & our teens were paddling right past them…🐢🛶 at Crabtree Nature Center!
What started as a visit to Crabtree Nature Center turned into an adventure our Teen Impact members won’t forget!
Our teens and staff had the opportunity to explore the center, learn about the wildlife around them, and get out on the water for a canoeing experience. For some of our members, it was their very first time in a canoe, and being surrounded by wildlife, including snapping turtles, made it even more unforgettable.
💙A HUGE thank you to the entire Crabtree Nature Center team for taking the time to teach, guide, and share their knowledge with our members and staff. Thank you for showing our teens how to canoe, helping them experience nature up close, and creating a space where they could learn something new and step outside their comfort zones. 🌿
Some days at the Club look a little different. Sometimes, they look like grabbing a paddle, spotting wildlife, and realizing just how much there is to explore outside. 💚
