2025 Hero for Youth

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwest Suburbs has been recognized as a 2025 Hero for Youth through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Club Advocacy Recognition Program. 

This national recognition honors Clubs that demonstrate strong advocacy engagement on behalf of young people, working with local, state, and federal leaders to ensure youth have access to the programs, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Advocacy efforts by Clubs across the country have helped secure increased funding for critical priorities, including youth mentoring, workforce development and readiness, academic success programs, and essential meal services. These efforts ensure that young people, especially those who need support the most, can continue to access safe spaces, caring mentors, and life-changing opportunities.

“We’re proud to be recognized for our advocacy efforts and the role we play in elevating youth voices in our community,” said Amanda Schleede, Chief Executive Officer. “This recognition reflects the collective commitment of our staff, board, and partners to ensure kids and teens have the support they need to achieve great futures.”

The Club Advocacy Recognition Program places participating Clubs into tiers based on advocacy engagement and impact. Earning Hero for Youth status places Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwest Suburbs among the top half of Clubs nationwide for advocacy involvement.
